Abstract: Self-worth is an affirmative to a human being by the society and other people in social life and social activities. It includes human dignity and material and spirit conditions which ensure human dignity. Self-worth is the worth which is proved without depending on any other facts outside oneself. It depends on oneself totally. Actually, it is an independent personality. This essay compares Becky Sharp's rebel spirit with Amelia Sedley's weakness during their life experiences, then comes to a conclusion that females are alive with personality, and they glisten with self-worth.

摘要：自我价值，是指在社会生活和社会活动中，社会和他人对作为人的存在的一种肯定关系。包括人的尊严，和保证人的尊严的物质精神条件。自我价值是不依赖自身以外的人事物来证明的价值，是一种完全由自我决定的价值。自我价值是一种独立的人格。本文将通过对萨克雷的成名作《名利场》的研究，对比两个女主角此起彼落的遭遇中蓓基·夏泼所具有的反叛精神和爱米丽亚的柔弱没有自我，从而得出结论：女性因有个性而鲜活，因有自己的价值而活得熠熠生辉。
