试析《红字》中的原罪及其影响

An Analysis of Sin and Its Effects in The Scarlet Letter

摘  要

　　美国著名作家纳撒尼尔·霍桑关注罪恶及其影响的问题。 《红字》的主题之一是罪与赎罪的问题，这一主题使霍桑誉满全球。小说《红字》中的罪及其影响以以下方式表现出来：海丝特所犯之罪及其影响，丁梅斯代尔所犯之罪及其影响，齐灵渥斯所犯之罪及其影响。换句话说，本论文意欲描述红字中三个主角如何处理他们所犯之罪。通过分析不同角色身上罪恶的道德和心理影响，霍桑为曾经犯罪的妇女走向道德成长唱响了颂歌。

Abstract

　　　Nathaniel Hawthorne, an American famous writer, concerns with the problem of sin and its effects. The Scarlet Letter, one theme of which is sin and redemption, makes Hawthorne known all around the world. The sin and its effects in the novel The Scarlet Letter are presented from the way of the sin and its effects on Hester Prynne, Arthur Dimmesdale, and Roger Chillingworth. In other words, this paper is meant to describe how the three main characters deal with the sin that they have committed in The Scarlet Letter. Through the analysis of the moral and psychological effects of the sin on different people, Hawthorne sings the praise of the moral growth of the woman who has even been sinned.
