Abstract

This paper is intended to make a brief analysis of enlightenment and guidance to modern life of 17 Again. Since the birth of film, American comedy movies have been loved by people all over the world, and they have exaggerated the real life with irony and humor. People are influenced unconsciously by comedies in the atmosphere of relaxation and happiness. The legendary experience of Mike O’Donnell who is the leading player of the comedy 17 Again makes a forceful impression on me. At first, this paper summaries the primary plot, then it analyses the enlightenment of the movie. It explains the midlife crisis with concrete behaviors of Mike and his wife to make people understand better. And it gives some suggestions about how to deal with it through authoritative theories. In the movie, the pattern of communicating between family members and the generation gap between parents and children are microcosms of daily life. This paper makes people understand these questions by studying characters’ actions, words, minds and so on. It is hoped that this paper can make people improve their methods that they get along with family members, think about if they are responsible for family and make people confront life positively.
