Abstract: In current English class of junior middle school, some teachers still use the traditional vocabulary teaching methods, which lead to the lack of active classroom atmosphere and high teaching efficiency. Under the guidance of Multiple Intelligences, this thesis aims at these problems and makes a study of the methods about English vocabulary teaching. Firstly, this thesis introduces the basic content of Multiple Intelligences, and then puts forward four basic teaching principles under the guidance of the theory. After that, it applies seven intelligences to different teaching procedures based on the rule of vocabulary teaching. According to the research, this thesis concludes the advantages of applying Multiple Intelligences, and provides junior middle school teachers with some specific, workable and interesting teaching methods and activities in order to stimulate students’ learning interest and improve the efficiency of vocabulary teaching.
