Abstract

 New media has injected new energy to the news translation, breaking the limitations of print media and electronic media, and providing more possibilities for the development of language changes. At the same time, the new media also provides a broader space for the translation of hot news words. New media and the traditional sense of the media is different, in which the traditional media such as television, newspapers, radio, computers, and so on just complete a single information dissemination, but the new media is based on the use of digital media technology for information processing and definition. This thesis will study the characteristics, influence and strategies of translation of hot news words in the background of new media. As to the choice of alienation and domestication, they are both important strategies to the translation. Also several translation methods will be involved in, such as literal translation, literal translation, free translation, naturalization and back translation. Finally, by the way of making examples, readers can better accept and be familiar with the translation methods and techniques which can be used under the background of new media.
