Abstract：In recent years, researchers at home and abroad have attached great importance to the studies of discourse analysis. Accordingly, various studies on discourse analysis have been evoked both in the foreign countries and in China. This study attempts to explore the application of discourse analysis in English business correspondence writing. This study regards discourse analysis as its theoretical foundation and it intends to explore the writing features of English business correspondence from lexical level, sentence pattern and discourse level respectively, and then analyzes discourse cohesion and coherence in business correspondence writing from discourse structure, discourse cohesion and discourse coherence in detail. It is hoped that this study will shed some implications on business correspondence writing and give some suggestion and help to business correspondence writers

摘要：近年来，语篇分析理论越来越受到国内外学者的重视，而这在国内外也引发了一系列关于语篇分析方面的研究。本研究试图探讨语篇分析理论在商务英语信函写作中的运用。本文以语篇分析理论为依据，首先从词汇方面、句法方面、语篇方面来探讨商务信函写作的语篇特征；然后从商务信函写作的语篇结构、语篇衔接以及语篇连贯三方面来分析商务信函写作的语篇衔接与连贯。希望本文的研究能够对商务信函写作有所启示，从而为商务信函写作者提供一些帮助。
