Abstract：D.H. Lawrence (1885-1930) is a great writer in Britain. Sons and Lovers is one of Lawrence's major works, and is still considered to be one of his best. It is not only widely read by the public, but also makes Lawrence well known among writers and intellectuals. In the form of literature, the writer describes his own growing experience in childhood and adolescence, lively and meticulously. As one of the most important novels written by Lawrence, this novel focuses its concern on the descriptions of the psychosis and the moral confusion of that roaring age. Most critics in general analyze and evaluate Sons and Lovers by adopting a psychoanalytical or social approach. The discussion up to date either just hunts for Oedipus complex or is strictly confined to context analysis. This thesis, however, attempts to analyze the family education on Paul. The paper will include the life background of Lawrence. It also briefly introduces the ethical literacy criticism and the main content of the novel so that we can have an idea about them. This thesis will highlight the family education of the time and analyze how Paul is taught by his parents. The paper will also explain the essential role that family education plays in constructing the image of Paul. We all know family education is the powerful core of the family. With a long time, family education exerts great influence on people’s life.

摘要：劳伦斯是英国著名的作家。《儿子与情人》是劳伦斯其中一部著作，也是至今为止被认为是最好的著作。他的作品在社会上不仅被广泛阅读，并且在学术界为劳伦斯带来了很高的名声。这部作品以作者童年和青年时代的生活为背景，以文学为形式生动而细致的描绘了自己的成长经历。大多数批评家都采用心理批评或社会分析的方法阐释《儿子与情人》，不是着力恋母情结就是局限于社会内容的分析。然而，本文试图去分析家庭教育。本篇论文会介绍劳伦斯的生活背景，简要概括文学伦理学批评以及小说的主要内容，并会着力介绍当时的家庭教育。本文还会分析保罗从父母处接受到的家庭教育。文章还会总结家庭教育对保罗形象的形成的重要性。我们都知道家庭教育是一个家庭的核心，在很长的一段时间里，家庭教育影响着人们的生活。
