Abstract:In the recent decades, perspectives of comprehending English idiom have become more and more extensive. Accordingly, various studies on English idiom from different perspectives have been evoked both in the foreign countries and in China. Nevertheless, most of these perspectives focus their attention mainly on culture, translation and application. Therefore, this study attempts to comprehend formal idiom from a constructional perspective.  

   In this study, we firstly summarize correlative literatures, and make them as a theoretical frame for this study to comprehend formal English idiom. We take [the X-er, the Y-er] for example and find out that it is feasible to comprehend formal idiom form a constructional perspective, based on the theoretical frame. We hope that this study will shed some insights on the further study of this field.

摘要:近十年来,国内外对习语解读的视角越来越广阔,而这也引发了国内一系列关于英语习语的不同视角的研究。然而,这些研究的视角都比较集中,主要是从文化角度、翻译与应用角度。因此,本研究试图从构式语法的角度解读英语习语中的图式习语。

   在本次研究中,我们首先总结国内外构式语法及英语习语的相关研究,并作为本文的导向,以此展开对英语习语中图式习语的解读。根据学者们的研究,我们以“the X-er, the Y-er”为图式习语的代表,结合其理论——即本文的理论框架,发现从构式语法的视角对英语习语中的图式习语进行解读是可行的。希望本研究能够为未来这个方向的研究提供一些见解。
