Abstract: Heathcliff, the unforgettable protagonist, undoubtedly adds great charm to Wuthering Heights, the only novel of the British female writer, Emily Bronte. The author of this thesis attempts to decipher Heathcliff’s unique psychological development from revenge to recovery of human nature, then to reconciliation and the reasons behind each of these changes. To the author of this thesis, the distorted human nature Heathcliff exhibits is the result of the abnormal society, and the reversion of his nature, the spiritual sublimation.

摘要：希斯克利夫这一令人难忘的主角无疑给英国女作家,艾米丽·勃朗特唯一小说《呼啸山庄》增加了巨大的魅力。本文作者试图解读希斯克利夫从复仇到人性的回归，然后到和解的独特的心理历程的发展，以及每一个变化后的原因。对本文的作者来说，希斯克利夫所展示的人性的扭曲是这个变态社会的缩影,而其人性的回归是其精神上的升华的结果。
