Abstract

Business English e-mails which serve as a special kind of communication play a major role in business activities. But the lexicon is a major aspect to influence the effect of communication. The paper deeply analyzes the lexical features of business English e-mails from four aspects. They are the choice of common words; the choice of concrete words; the choice of business terms and the choice of positive words. The paper can help readers further understand the importance of lexicons in business English e-mails and create better e-mails and so that business English e-mails may play a more and more important role in international trades and cooperation.
