Abstract: As to the specific industrial and commercial field, the Annual Report of Industry Authority issued by Development Research Center of the State Council is the most authoritative research in a specific industrial field. Annual Report on Automotive Industry in China(2016) is a research work on the domestic automotive industry development situation. As an English translation study of report on industrial development, the paper is based on the English translation of the annual report on automotive industry in China, discussing how Nida’s functional equivalence theory guides the English translation of industry report. Three aspects are explored: literal translation, free translation, and adding and reduction Translation. The analysis will be done depending on the functional equivalence theory to make the target language as practical as possible.
