Abstract：The novel Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption is one of the greatest works of Stephen King，the American popular novelist. The English version even became the champion of the New York Times Bestseller List once it was published. And the film version The Sahwshank Redemption which was adapted from it was honored as the most perfect film in the world, and won the Oscar for seven nominations.

　　　This thesis will take the reception theory and the film reception theory as the basic theory, and compares and analyses the novel version and the film version from the reception theory. It will emphatically discuss on the differences between the narrative ways of the novel and the film, languages of the literature and film, and also the receptive attitude of the audience on the novel plots and the adaption，and hope it can offer a new view to understand these two great works.

摘要：小说《丽塔. 海华丝和肖申克的救赎》是美国通俗小说家斯蒂芬.金的一部辉煌之作，一经推出就登上纽约时报畅销书排行版冠军；而根据其改编的电影《肖申克的救赎》则曾获奥斯卡七项提名、被称为史上最完美的电影。

　　　本文将以文学的接受理论和电影的接受理论为理论基础，从文学与电影的接受比较的角度对小说《丽塔.海华丝和肖申克的救赎》与电影肖申克的救赎进行分析。着重分析小说与电影受众对小说与电影中所采用的叙事手段的不同、文学语言与电影语言的不同及人物与故事情节的不同的接受态度进行比较分析，从新的角度解读这部伟大的作品。
