Abstract：In recent years, an increasing number of American sitcoms have been introduced into our country by Internet and aroused great interest among the Chinese audiences, especially young people. What’s more, some scholars in China are also doing research on American sitcoms. Therefore, the author attempts to make an overall analysis of the Cooperative Principle by using the latest language material that is The Big Bang Theory. CP is consisted of Maxim of Quantity; Maxim of Quality; Maxim of Manner; Maxim of Relevance. And the humor effect of The Big Bang Theory is caused by violating these maxims.

　　　A lot of Chinese audiences are practicing oral English by watching American sitcoms. So in the forth chapter in this thesis, the author will offer some suggestions on how to practice oral English better and improve the oral English by using Cooperative Principle without being affected by the violation of Cooperative Principle.

　　　To sum up, this study may have theoretical and practical significance due to its exploratory and primary research in the field. On the one hand, this study is expected to set light on the Cooperative Principle and enrich the theories of sitcoms. On the other hand, to some extent, make some contributions to the production and perception of humor in American sitcoms and therefore may help improve the Chinese audience’s oral English.

摘要：近年来，美国情景喜剧主要以网络方式引入我国，在我国产生了巨大的影响，尤其在年轻观众中广受欢迎。不仅如此，美国情景喜剧也引起了从事语言学研究人员的关注。因此，本文试图利用最新的语料——目前正在热播的美国情景喜剧《生活大爆炸》为研究对象，对格雷斯的合作原则进行分析。当中包括量的准则、质的准则、关系准则和方式准则。而美国情景喜剧《生活大爆炸》的幽默效果大部分正是违反这四种原则来达到的。

　　　由于大部分中国观众会通过观看美国情景喜剧来练习英语口语，所以在本文最后的篇幅会提供如何利用合作原则来更好的练习英语口语而不被剧中的违反合作原则影响，以便更好的提高口语能力。

　　　综上所述，本研究有一定的理论意义和现实意义。一方面，本研究对应用合作原则提供了一些启示，同时也丰富了情景喜剧的研究理论。另一方面，本研究的成果在一定程度上对美国情景喜剧幽默产生做出了贡献，并用来帮助中国观众更好的欣赏美国情景喜剧和利用其提高口语能力
